My name is Elle (pronounced el, pronouns she/her), and I bring to Steady Space over 8 years of administrative experience, with the past 3 concentrated in a dedicated executive support role. In this role I provide support to a 5 person senior leadership team within a university careers service, and also service a key strategic sub-committee that feeds into the university's overall education strategy. I also complete project management support for employability projects in the service.
Before this I worked in the charity sector as a volunteer coordinator for both a Muslim international development charity, and a heritage site/domestic abuse charity. These jobs certainly started (or fostered?) my love in building strong CRM systems and spreadsheets, as well as making customer service inboxes and processes as seamless as possible.

Identifying as Disabled and Neurodivergent is what has lead me to create Steady Space - through supporting and advocating for so many colleagues with DSE (Display Screen Equipment) purchases, access to work claims and general queries about "what system should I use for this task and how", I have realised there is so much knowledge that needs to be shared, but not enough businesses that are designed by and for Disabled people.
If you're reading this and are thinking "I'm not disabled so this service is not for me", let me introduce you to the "Curb Cut Effect". A little known secret is by thinking differently and creating more support suited to disabled people's needs, Able-bodied or Neurotypical people will begin to see the benefits too. Just like the Keyboard, an audiobook, or the electric toothbrush, there may be a perfect solution to your needs when no other solutions you have tried have been quite right. Sometimes it takes a neurodivergent person to do that thinking!
